Southern Nazarene University Head Men's and Women's Bowling Coach

Mark Jeffreys
Mark Jeffreys was named the Head Coach of Southern Nazarene University's inaugural Men's and Women's Bowling programs on July 25, 2022 and will be entering his 5th season as the Crimson Storm's Head Men's and Women's Bowling Coach.
Coach Jeffreys came to Southern Nazarene from Blanchard High School in Blanchard, Oklahoma, where he guided the Blanchard Boys basketball team to two state qualifiers, as well as 2 state academic championships.
Prior to his time at Blanchard, Jeffreys worked as a lay coach at multiple schools and retired as a Regional Vice-President for United Parcel Service as part of his 25 year UPS career. Jeffreys was also part of the original management team that formed UPS Capital. Jeffreys also created one of the top digital media companies in the outdoor industry and was nominated for the Bass fishing Hall of Fame in 2022 for his journalistic work covering professional bass fishing.
Jeffreys brings an abundance of bowling experience to Southern Nazarene. He has been a member of the Professional Bowlers Association for 32 years. He has won 22 local and regional titles and continues to be active on the PBA 50 Tour and PBA 50 Regional events.
Jeffreys coaching style is unique from the aspect of his first conversations with recruits and their families as he tells them, "I am not a bowling coach. I am a coach that knows a lot about bowling." Jeffreys relies on his vast experience coaching basketball, baseball and being a former college athlete to mesh with is knowledge of bowling while utilizing his friendships with outstanding players, industry leaders and people that know the game. He treats college bowling as a sport and the players as student athletes, not just a bowler.
Jeffreys coached his way to his first significant college bowling title during the 2024-2025 SWIBC Championship in San Antonio, Texas. During the second season of the program, the Men's Team defeated Texas A&M and Dallas Baptist to earn the hardware in Texas.
This past season, Jeffreys led the SNU Crimson Storm Men's Team to the 2026 USBC Collegiate National Championship in Green Bay, Wisconsin where the SNU Men's Team earned a 5th place finish while upsetting #1 seed, Weber International and #7 seed, McKendree University on their amazing run, eventually being defeated by the 2026 National Champion, St. Ambrose University, 4 to 3.
The SNU Men's Team earning a position in the USBC National Championship was only the 3rd time in the 51 history of College Bowling for a program to make it to the National Championship in three years or less from the start of a program. It was an amazing run.
Jeffreys graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He is married to his wife, Caroline. They have two boys, Mark and Aaron. Jeffreys is a huge St. Louis Blues hockey fan and played hockey for a number of years in California, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.
