Oklahoma City, OK – September 1st, 2025 – College Bowling is entering uncharted territory this fall as two crosstown rivals, Oklahoma Christian University and Southern Nazarene University, square off in a first-of-its-kind event: The Crosstown Clash. Hosted at Holiday Lanes in Oklahoma City, this Men’s Collegiate Bowling matchup marks a new chapter in the sport's history with a unique, dynamic format never before seen at the college level.

 

In this inaugural event, both teams will battle through three intense periods of competition, each featuring a different format of play:

​

• Period 1 – Singles: Four players from each team will set the tone with four games of match play followed by a fifth game, a showcase singles match between each school’s highest scoring players with the winner earning 30 bonus pins.

• Period 2 – Doubles: Strategic pairings of four doubles teams from each university will continue the match with four games of match play followed by a fifth game showcase doubles match between each school’s highest scoring doubles teams with the winning team earning 30 bonus pins.

• Period 3 – Baker Team Format: 10 Baker Games utilizing up to eight players during the Baker Games.

 

The total pins accumulated across all three periods will determine the winner of this historic showdown.

 

As the spotlight turns to Oklahoma City, fans, alumni, and college bowling enthusiasts nationwide will witness a fresh take on collegiate competition—combining the traditional college bowling format with a new innovative structure. With bragging rights and local pride on the line, The Crosstown Clash promises to be more than just a match—it’s a milestone moment for the future of college bowling.
