Baker Competition Highlights Team Execution

Southern Nazarene responded to Drury's opening 220–204 victory by taking the next Baker game 213–201. The teams then battled to a 200–200 tie before Drury claimed the fourth game, 221–197.
The Crimson Storm answered with a 187–180 victory in the fifth recorded Baker game.
The tightly contested Baker games reflected the competitive nature of the matchup, with both programs forced to execute under pressure.
Drury Provides Strong Competition
Drury University presented a formidable challenge on its home lanes, producing several outstanding individual performances.
John Micheal Farthing led Drury with a 244.2 average over nine games, while Elijah Klenklen averaged 227.7. Trayton Cherry contributed a 300 during Doubles competition, highlighting the exceptional scoring pace throughout the match.
Despite those performances, Southern Nazarene's depth and timely scoring helped the Crimson Storm secure the road victory.
A Statement Win for Southern Nazarene
The victory represents another positive step for a Southern Nazarene program continuing to establish itself among competitive collegiate bowling programs.
After earning a berth in the 2026 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships, the Crimson Storm returned its entire national championship roster for the 2026–27 season.
Thursday's performance demonstrated the value of that experience, with Southern Nazarene combining veteran leadership, emerging talent and a team-first approach to capture an important road win.
The CBAA's three-period competition format places a premium on versatility, requiring teams to succeed in individual matchups, doubles partnerships and the traditional Baker team format.
For Southern Nazarene, the victory reinforced the importance of executing across all three disciplines.
